The Ogun State Judicial service Commission was established in November, 1979.
The Judicial Service Commission is a creation of statute i.e; Section 197 (1) (c) of 1999 Constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria (as Amended).

Its responsibilities include advising the National Judicial Council on suitable persons for nomination to the office of the Chief Judge of the State and Judges of the High Court of the State, the appointment, dismissal and exercising of disciplinary control over the Chief Registrar, and Deputy Chief Registrars of the High Court, Magistrates, and all other members of staff of the Judicial Service of the State.
